29 weeks!!

Standard

A day (or two) late, but better than never I guess!  Here is the weekly belly picture.  All is going beautifully and my appointments are already every two weeks.  I have an appointment on Thursday, so I will have an update then, if nothing more than to say that it was uneventful.

I swear this has been my easiest pregnancy to date and I think I can attribute that to my twin pregnancy.  That particular pregnancy was so miserable and uncomfortable that I feel like anything after that will be a breeze.  All of my singleton pregnancies have been easy, but this one takes the cake.  I also think that the twins stretched my belly out so much that I still have so much room to stretch with this little guy.  I am not at all uncomfortable, I am sleeping great, no heartburn, etc.  I honestly feel wonderful and I am truly enjoying this pregnancy.  Usually by the time I’m 7 months, I just want it to be over with.  I haven’t felt that way one time with this baby.  So while my twin pregnancy pretty much sucked, it has put this pregnancy into perspective for me.  If there was one positive with the twin pregnancy, this is it!

The power of prayer

Standard

I am in awe yet again of God’s mercy and goodness.  My family has been praying feverishly for a situation that my sister is dealing with and today those prayers were answered and then some!!  When we got the good news call, we were all in tears.  God’s goodness and grace never cease to amaze me.  I mean we were talking a life and death situation here and clearly God is granting life over death!!

God has done some HUGE things in the life of my dear sister over the last few years.  She was in a dire situation a little less than three years ago and it was a true miracle that she survived.  God is certainly preparing her for a “my story will blow your mind” kind of testimony.

Please take a moment and thank God for his daily mercies and answered prayers.  My family is living proof that God is real and that He loves each one of us more than we can even begin to comprehend.  I will be sharing more about this situation above in the near future, so stay tuned!

7 months pregnant!!

Standard

Here is the weekly belly shot.  Today marks 7 months already!  I had a great weekend with my IP’s and look forward to seeing them again in May when the little guy decides to arrive.

I’m still trying to get that 3D ultrasound picture on the blog.  Will try again tomorrow!

Here’s to a super week full of good things!

We meet again…..

Standard

This morning was my 3D ultrasound so my IP’s flew in last night.  We met for a wonderful dinner that lasted late into the night and we met up again this morning for the big ultrasound.  I tried to post a couple of the ultrasound pictures, but for some reason I’m having problems.  I will work on this some more tomorrow and will somehow get them posted.  They are amazing!!  Baby M was very cooperative and we got some really great pictures of him.

The next time I see my IP’s will be when the baby arrives.  We only have 12 more weeks to go.  I honestly can’t believe how quickly this pregnancy has flown by.

Stand by for 3D ultrasound pics tomorrow.  One way or another I WILL get them posted!!

Shoo flu!!!!

Standard

I need to buy stock in these masks!!

Two of our sons have had a short-lived but nasty stomach bug over the past week and this morning my hubby woke up with it.  I was hoping it was behind us, but apparently not.  I’m just praying that our other two kids and myself are spared.  I had this junk during my first surrogacy around 5 months, and I swear, it felt like I was going to puke the dang baby up!!  It was HORRIBLE!  Thank the good Lord I didn’t get it with my twin pregnancy and I’m praying He spares me from it this time around.  My hubby has to be out of town for a long weekend and my IP’s are coming in for my ultrasound.  I can’t get sick!!  If you find it in your heart to do so, please say a prayer for us!!

Valentine Schmalentine

Standard

I got to spend the entire day with my wonderful husband, however, it wasn’t the most romantic of days.  Our morning started out with a dental appointment for both of us and then we spent the entire day running errands and such.  I’m blessed to have such a wonderful Valentine to spend my life with.  I’m so thankful that God blessed me with him!

When I got up this morning I made a batch of those yummy devil’s food cake cupcakes with homemade cream cheese frosting and red non-pareils that I wrote about awhile back.  I frequently use the excuse “they are for the kids” when I want a sinful little treat like that.  I had a couple and the kids devoured them after school, so the temptation is gone now, thank goodness.

Hope you all had a lovely Valentine’s Day too!

27 Weeks and the beginning of our 3rd Trimester!

Standard

First off, I have to apologize for not posting anything in a week!  It’s been a crazy week here between sick kids and a traveling husband, not to mention all the other stuff that’s happened in between.

I turned 27 weeks pregnant yesterday, which also marks the beginning of the third trimester.  This baby is going to be here before we know it!  My IP’s are coming into town on Friday and we have an appointment and a 3D ultrasound scheduled for Saturday.  I will post the ultrasound pictures we get Saturday as soon as possible.  My IP’s are dying to see their little boy’s face and I’m pretty excited too.  It’s been nearly 10 weeks since our last ultrasound, so it’ll be interesting to see how the little guy is growing.

I hope you all have a wonderful week.  I will get back to posting daily, starting tomorrow.  Thanks for being faithful blog stalkers even when I’ve been lax this week!

P.S.  From comparing last weeks belly photo to this week’s, I swear my belly looks smaller!!

The little things…..

Standard

Every mother of a child old enough to be mobile will get a kick out of this!  I haven’t peed alone in over a DECADE!!!  Even now, when my kids are at school, both of my dogs push the bathroom door open everytime I go in there.  I hate to admit that my husband is no better.  When you become a mother, there are just certain things you give up.  Privacy being one of them.

The simple solution to this would be to lock the bathroom door, right?  Nope, not in our house.  We had to put a non-locking doorknob on our bathroom door because our youngest son locked himself in there awhile back.  We were all on the other side trying to explain to him how to unlock it (there is a little sliding mechanism, not your typical doorknob here), all to no avail.  My husband had to remove the door and replace the knob that day.  Ever since then, privacy is a thing of the past.  Really, is wanting to pee alone asking too much?!

26 Weeks…..

Standard

Here is the promised weekly belly picture.

On a more exciting note, my IP’s are in Indianapolis for the weekend and my IF and his dad were AT the game today!  They are HUGE Patriots fans and since they are season ticket holders, they had a chance to be chosen out of the Super Bowl ticket lottery and yep…you guessed it, they were some of the ticket holders that were chosen.  All throughout the game I received texts from my IF, complete with pictures from his view at the game.  Of course he was devastated that they didn’t win, but going to the Super Bowl to see the Pats play was a lifelong dream of his so he was thrilled just to be there.  And my IM texted me to let me know that baby boy has a new Patriots wardrobe waiting for him when he arrives!

Wishing a happy week to each of you!!

P.S.  Was it just me, or did the halftime show suck?!  Madonna is really starting to show her age….her moves just aren’t what they used to be.

Oozing happiness…..

Standard

This was taken right after my ultrasound back in December when we found out the baby’s sex.  My IM was talking to her best friend (who orchestrated us meeting and ultimately working together) and telling her the great news.  I always like looking back on these significant moments of my surrogacies and hope it will bring a little smile to your face as well.  You can see the happiness and excitement in my IM’s face.  These kinds of moments are the ones that make surrogacy worth it all.
